NDSM loods, Amsterdam.

moral relativism: The money’s got to come from somewhere.
The project manifests the duality mindset of todays Zeitgeist and consitst of relating two unrelated opposites:
1: Pfizer – Medical experimentation by pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer in African countries have lead to relatively many death and injured african test persons. In addition, Pfizer settled for the largest criminal fine of any kind ever (2009) for fraudulent marketing.
This project claims that a company that claims to manufacture medicines in order to heal people, turnes out to kill, injure and lie to people, can be interpreted as a fundamentally socially unwishfull part of human society today.
To stress the polarity, the same company represents the acceptance of profit no matter the consequences.
Explained this way, Pfizer represents a part of western globalized capitalist human culture today (internal polarisation: wishfull self image v.s. self censored marketing.)
2: The NDSM loods with the steel blue doors is an old industrial complex that houses many artists. Who doesn’t love the part in us that enalbles the weak to have a plan to, like in a zoo. Who can be against such a entertaining place? Can this be one of those places that symbolises wishfullness of the human society? Similar to fugitive camps and other. This way, art breeding platforms such as the NDSM loods represent a part of the human culture today, also. (internal polarisation: wishfull self image v.s. gentrification.)
1 + 2: This project combines both internal polarities, as representations of human culture, into one holistic representation which implies an existential relationship: the acceptance of illegal activities of a company to generate financial profit which, through implied funding enables the arts of that very same culture to exist.
In other words: what’s there to hold against a cultural breeding ground to accept donations of a fraudulent company?
The money’s got to come from somewhere.
Artist in the building have not been informed. Explanation was not well received. Consequently, vandalism (paint balloons) added a welcome expressionist layer to the conceptual composition.
Experimental work and study.
This project depicts Heester his view on the existential relationship of governmental tasks (war) and commercial gain on one hand and the acceptance of poison and polition for profit, on the other. By combining both, Heester depicts an holistic view on human culture today.
Camouflaged polarity: June 2018, due to bad publicity Monsanto adopted the name of its over-all company Bayer. Bayer is related to asperin, a good thing for mankind. Since Monsanto can be seen as a representation of fraud, poison and DNA-polution the name Monsanto no longer exists. Its activities do, under the name Bayer.)
